The Women's Therapy Centre has many years' experience of offering training, to related professionals. These services are available to individuals, women only groups and mixed groups and tailor-made to meet your needs.
Training sessions are offered on a wide variety of topics, ranging from a general introduction to psychotherapy, its applications and access to services, to training on particular clinical issues, such as eating problems, self-harm or domestic violence.
Training can also be focussed on professional issues such as working cross-culturally, or crisis management.
The Centre's experienced individual and group psychotherapists who offer these services come from a variety of cultural background and offer a wide range of specialist expertise. The work can take place in-house or at our premises in Islington.
Non-managerial work supervision is offered to professionals interested in developing their understanding of the psychological experiences and needs of patients or clients, and the consequent demands on staff teams and individual staff members.
This service offered to individuals or groups of colleagues can be particularly helpful to professionals whose roles are primarily taken up with the physical or practical care of patients or clients, leaving little space for thinking psychologically about work situations which stir up complex feelings and reactions in those involved.
An external group leader can be engaged to facilitate a one-off meeting, such as an away-day or a planned series of meetings. This can be a very helpful way of creating a special setting in which to think about workplace relations.
A consultant visits over a period of time to help an organisation think through the development, implementation and processing of change.
